Setting the pace for coronary care in Queensland

Monday, 4 August 2008

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane officially opened its expanded Coronary Care Unit in August 2008.

The refurbished unit, on level nine of the private hospital, has doubled from four beds to eight and is now much better equipped to cope with the increasing demand for private cardiac services in Brisbane.

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane Executive Director Don Murray said the unit was now well equipped to meet increasing patient demand for services.

The establishment of the new Mater Private CardioVascular Unit and Coronary Care Unit in recent years is part of our overall commitment to develop a strong cardiac service.

Demand for these services has required us to rapidly expand our capacity and the newer, bigger Coronary Care Unit will enable our staff to further develop the exceptional care they already provide.
