OAM for Maureen
Friday, 4 April 2008
On Friday 4 April 2008, Mater Adult Hospital Breast Care Unit Clinical Nurse Consultant Maureen Gleeson was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her service to nursing and to women diagnosed with breast cancer.
It was Maureen’s patients and fellow medical staff who nominated her for the official honour.
Maureen has worked at Mater for 35 years and has been an integral part of the Mater Adult Hospital Breast Care Unit since 1997.
I was surprised about getting the OAM but really the whole team does a great job and we have a top team of surgeons here at Mater.
