Renovation rescue and Reg Leonard House

Wednesday, 1 October 2008

Staff from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) spent Wednesday 1 October 2008 volunteering their time and skills to give a much needed facelift to Reg Leonard House, a block of 17 self contained units that provide accommodation for regional patients and their families being cared for at Mater Health Services.

Armed with tools and equipment, BCEC staff spent the day helping to create an environment at Reg Leonard House that is warm, inviting and comfortable for patients and their families.

Reg Leonard House is self funding and was established in 1979 by Sir Reg Leonard through funds raised by the Children's Hospital Appeal.

BCEC’s ongoing support is part of Mater's Corporate Engagement Program, run by Mater Volunteer Services, where local businesses are able to actively engage in making a positive contribution to the community.

To ensure we continue our commitment to meet the health care needs of the community, Mater has developed business strategies which address the issues of financial, social and environmental sustainability.

This website has been developed in accord with these strategies, and is the accompaniment to a summary document printed on recycled paper.
